Duchamp is one of the most important artists of the 20th century. Duchamps most famous piece is a ready-made the fountain, the idea of this piece is rather that peeing on art you would be peeing on yourself. This piece is important because it raises so many questions at once about art for the first time. Is it art because its signed and is in a gallery? If this isn't art what isn't? Where do notions of "art" begin and end?
